Remember History
Thursday, March 26th, 2009A departure from Chipp2 (www.chipp2.com), Chipp, and Winston Tailor anecdotes and clothing opinions and advice follows: I can’t resist venting a little about the economy. The concept of economic cycles is not new. Some are more extreme than others. If we don’t remember history we are condemned to repeat former mistakes- forgetting that we tried something and that it didn’t work. Although there are variations, the concept of the failure of risk management remains the same. Greed, whose ugly presence effects ones assesment of risk, has played a part. There are many villains in our current version of woe. I have neither the expertise or time to expond on them. I will leave that to the economist , some of whom are the people whose decisions got us here in the first place. But history does tell us how to get out of the mess. The consumer has to start consuming. ( Tough for someone who has joined the ranks of the unemployed.) So I want all of you who are employed and who do not have some clothing on order to order something.
This too shall pass. Not too soon for me.
Paul Winston
